...Last Hurrah of October...

We have been talking about going to Denver to visit my brother and his family since last August. We even had a trip planned last August, but I got really sick and couldn't go. After a year, we finally planned another trip, and  decided to go spend Halloween weekend with them. We loaded up the Camry after work on Thursday (its way better on gas then the truck) and headed to Denver! The first couple hours were okay, but the last 6 were way too long!!! It didn't help that we were driving in the dark either. It made the trip seem 10 times longer. Rylee did awesome the whole way, and we only had to stop two times for her to get out of her car seat. I thought she would sleep some of the way, but she stayed up the whole time. We brought movies for her to watch in the car, which we had never done before. She loved it, and it kept her entertained for a long time. How did our parents travel with us as kids? We didn't have anything fun for the car at all!! We rolled into Denver at about 11:15 Thursday night, and pretty much went straight to bed.

On our way!!

The next day I went and woke up Ella. She was a little confused when she saw me laying in her bed with her! It was fun to see all the kids, I hadn't seen them since June. Cassie changed so much, and can talk so good now. All of them are so dang cute. Abby and Spencer had school that day, so after they left it was just Ella and Cassie at home. I have always loved to do Mary's girls hair. They have the prettiest thickest hair! Of course I talked all 3 girls into letting me fix their hair. I cant wait for Rylee to have enough to do cute braids and curls! Mary made her cinnamon rolls for breakfast.... soooo good! We just kind of hung out until the afternoon.  That afternoon was jammed packed! We had lunch with Abby and Spenc at school, watched their costume parade at school, hit up Target to find stuff for Trunk or Treat that night, got all 5 kids ready for the ward party, went trick or treating, and then played all night. Somewhere in their Spencer got sick and Mary made homemade chili.

Lunch with the kids.

Costume Parade.

Ward party and Trunk or Treat.
Everyone looked so cute in their costumes.
Cassie was a bunny, Ella was a Fairy Princess, Rylee was a Monster, and Abby was a Vampire. Spenc came out after these pictures. He was Darth Vador.
Check out Ella's face in all these pictures... she cracks me up!

Dustin, Spencer, and Cassie.

At the ward party.

I thought she was leaning in to give me a kiss, but she attacked my face. Her monster costume was perfect for her!

Spencer felt better that night, so he got to come Trunk or Treating with us.

Aunt Mary took Rylee around to get her candy. Chasey and I sat at the van and gave out the candy.

Not letting go of her candy!

So excited to sit back, relax, and enjoy some candy.

We got home and dumped all the candy out on the floor. The kids scored BIG!!! We had to take out all the peanut candy cause Rylee and Spencer are allergic to peanuts. I couldn't believe how much candy had peanuts in it!!

That night we watched the new Karate Kid... not a good movie! I opted to go to bed instead!

Saturday we got up early and went to Spencer's last soccer game of the year. Poor kid was still not feeling good, but really wanted to go to his game. He played really good, and did AWESOME at being goalie!

Dustin enjoying the game.

Relaxing after the game.

Me and Spencer with his cool trophy.

After the soccer game, Abby had swim practice. She is on swim team, and totally rocks at it. I was so surprised at how fast she could swim!

Of course we had to frost sugar cookies! What holiday is complete without sugar cookies?
I would have gotten more pics, but I didn't feel good ( remember why Dustin)?!

That night the kids carved pumpkins. They all turned out pretty cool.
Ella came out in this totally fashionable outfit to see the pumpkins on the porch.

Take the next 2 pictures and you can see every ones faces!
My brother and his family.

Even in Denver The Great Pumpkin found us!

Sunday before Church. Don't they look nice?
We headed home when they went o church. We wanted to get through Spanish Fork before dark.

We gave Ry a new Cinderella for the drive home. Ya, that kept her entertained for 2 seconds.

Quick stop for some food.

Driving during the day was so much better! Colorado is gorgeous too.

We passed the ski resort and saw the snow boarders coming down the hill... look closely!

Just a few stops.

Miss Ry slept 4 hours coming home!!

Nothing like some good corn on the cob!
I looked back and her doll was behind her head like a pillow... what a nerd!
Thanks so much for having us Dustin and Mary!!! We had a great trip! Mary, I still want some of your pictures from the weekend.
