Our family elf, Jolly Smickel-Fig hung out at the house a lot this holiday season. I wasn't a huge fan of elf on the shelf, so we made our own elf! When we first explained the whole elf thing to Rylee she didn't really get it, but then I found this awesome elf, Chasey made a special elf door, and good ol' Jolly started leaving gifts... all of a sudden Rylee was loving the elf. She would color pictures and leave him notes to leave in the door, then when she woke up Jolly had left her a gift. Each day he would be hiding somewhere new, and each time she found him she would squeal and say, " oh my goodness mom, I found Jolly Smickel-Fig!" We told her she couldn't touch him or he would disappear, it worked cause she never touched him! We cant wait until next Christmas when Jolly comes back!
