...2 nights of Salt Lake...

I hardly ever go to Salt Lake anymore! Mostly cause Chasey works there everyday, so the last thing he wants to do is drive to Salt Lake on his day off! We did however go twice this past weekend. The first night we had tickets to the David Archuletta/ Mormon Tabernacle Christmas Concert. I was kind of ify about going cause the Tabernacle Choir is not my favorite at all. On our walk over to the confernece center I kept asking Chasey if he really wanted to go, or should we give our tickets to some desperate person who had been in the stand by line for 5 hours?! We ended up going and I am so glad that we did! First off we sat next to Bob and Emily Thurston from Morgan, Utah. They were in there late 70's and were the nicest couple. They gave us peanut brittle and chocolate during the whole concert. We talked about their mission to the Philippines, and what they are doing now. That in its self was a good night. The concert was so good. I know some of you think David Archuletta cant sing, but I think he has a beautiful voice! He sang some of my favorite songs and some I had never heard before. The dancers were really good, the story teller was great, the organ player was my favorite! It was a great night!!!

I love the Salt Lake Temple.
That is where I wanted to get married, but somehow got talked out of it by a certain person... not Chasey. I have regretted it ever since.

Before the concert. The tabernacle is a huge building that is just simply put... beautiful! Here are some facts aboutit that I think are pretty cool...

A 747 jetliner could fit inside the auditorium, and the Tabernacle on Temple Square could fit within the auditorium’s rostrum area.

21,000 people can sit comfortably in the conference center... three times more then the old one. This making it the largest auditorium in the world. The next to it only holds half of the people.

Every seat in the conference center was filled!

We got home pretty late cause of traffic and the weather. Rylee had been at the babysitters all night, so we had to go get her. She woke up right as we walked in the door, and stayed awake for a little bit when we got home too. That's fine by me... I just cant seem to get enough of her! We layed on the couch and watched Elf until she fell asleep. She isn't asleep here, she just closes her eyes for pictures now... just like I did when I was little.

The next day we had made plans to go to Temple Square with our friends. We figured that since we were bringing Rylee with us, we would stop at Thanksgiving Point to see Santa's Reindeer. She thought they were pretty cool, and kept saying, " Ry Ry's deer." Everything is Ry Ry's these days!

I love how she is just hanging her whole body through the fence.

We got to Salt Lake an hour before we were supposed to be there, so we took a carriage ride around the Gateway. Here is a little secret we found out... The carriage rides around Temple Square are $50, but they don't get there until 5:30 at night. Ever wonder where they are before that? They give rides around Gateway for only $15.

Ry thought it was pretty funny that a horse was pulling us. She would point at the horse and laugh.

Our driver, Scooter, gave her a candy cane afterwards. It doesn't take a lot to please this girl.

Gateway looked so pretty.

On our way to dinner we passed Express. They had all these balloons out front for the sale they were having. Rylee wanted one so bad, but I just kept walking. On the way back she totally frieked out cause she didn't have one. I went in and asked if we could take one. Sure enough the girl was happy to give us one. It made Ry's whole night. We kept that balloon for days after!

I had to get a picture of this! For as along as Gateway has been open, I have NEVER gotten a parking spot by the stores. I just figured it was impossibl, and gave up hope! It was a Christmas Miracle that we got this, and then the look on the ladies face as we pulled out and she pulled in was priceless!

We got a little cold, (and my boots were killing my feet. Super cute, but not super comfortable) so we went to the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. Chasey had never been, so he was kind of excited to see it.

It was a great night with great friends!
